• Joel McHale plays the sergeant’s sidekick in a role that was written with him in mind. Most excellent!
• Merging the fear of being a cop at night in the Bronx with the fear of supernatural evil emphasizes how trapped anyone who wants to be a force for good can feel in a broken world.

• Is it enough to fight for good when evil cannot be fully vanquished?
• How much evil in the world is secondary (human choices) and how much is primary (beyond human)?
